About this tour
Since humans began to cultivate the land, we have tried to tame nature. This has led to a number of major mistakes and problems. Our interventions in the course of nature have shaped both the landscape and life. Explore the planned landscape here with wealthy meadow farmers who lived on the Milky Way, and more frugal heath farmers who needed several hundred acres and a couple of side occupations to survive. See plantations and shelterbelts that were established to break the constant wind from the west. Immerse yourself in the history of agriculture, which over the last 100 years has been an almost unbelievable journey of growth. Part of that history also includes that we have pushed nature beyond its limits. There is a growing recognition that we need more untouched nature. And we will get it. If everything else goes according to plan.
